THE GRID

Installation and Performace

"I think of the grid as my nomadic home, a movable space for social engagement. I've been asked recently if I consider my the placement of the grids in various places as performance or installation? My answer is both. And both temporary. Words that come to kind are provisional, transitional, contingent, ephemeral. When I take the grids out in the world, I am interacting with the private and the public. Private in that I am claiming space for myself to exist. And public in that I feel the grid becomes a place, a location, that was not there before, now available as a site for potential social engagement"
